A breathtaking true story of compassion and tough love
Pabo & Tookae
Tookae and Pabo are tribal boys from the Lahu Tribe, who one day walked into the monastery looking for food. Their families are extreme poor and their situation only worsened considerably when both sets of parents became ill with tuberculosis. Both families also had a history of drug addiction, which resulted in the boys being raised seriously malnourished.
Now both boys are true friends and are inseparable. Tookae, the smallest of the two, is a bit wild, quick-tempered, intelligent and a keen horse rider. Pabo, on the other hand, is shy by nature, and lacks some of the courage of his smaller friend.
Although they have made great progress in the last year and have become much more confident and happy, they still often found hoarding food — a habit picked up from their hungry years.
